Put The Glass Down

Not too long ago, I remember reading about an event that transpired in a Stress Management class. The psychologist who was handling the class picked up an empty glass, and filled it halfway with water. At that point, what came to everybody's mind was th e half full, half empty theory, but the psychologist had other ideas; how heavy is this glass of water?  Different people gave different answers with all sorts of KGs and micro KGs. The Psychologist then hushed the class and dropped the bombshell; actually the weight is inconsequential, it doesn't matter, what actually matters is for how long I hold the glass.

My dear friend, that is the same scenario that applies to stress, worries, and Issues; there may be little inconveniences or little issues here and there, that naturally they should be infinitesimal, they should be insignificant, but if we keep them around for long, if we turn them over in our minds, and we chew on them for a little while longer, they will eventually weigh us down.

You need to take life easy, take it as it comes, and realise that nothing is worth killing yourself for, don't worry yourself to death. When you have issues that seems beyond you, think about them, make efforts and do what you can, pray if you can, then allow them sort themselves out.

My personal philosophy of life is; if a situation is beyond me, once I think of the way out, I do what I can, and I pray about it, I will leave it to sort itself out. If I can't handle it, then my worry and my sadness will not make it go away. It was Mark Twain who said; I have worried about many things, I have been troubled about so many things , but at the end of it all I realised that 80% of them were not
worth it because they didn't deserve the importance I attached to them, they were not as serious as I thought. So why worry, why not do yourself a favour by putting the glass down?

Tupac said; Life is complicated only when you make it to be. Quit worrying about your life and start enjoying your living. Worry is like a bag of cement, who are you carrying it for, where are you carrying it to? Live easy, live right, live your life and always trust God. Put the glass down.
